Offline Copy Operation 3 steps:
1、 After connecting the hard drive and the power adapter, press and hold the copy buttonuntil all lights start flashing. Release it and press again, then the copying process will begin.
2、 When the copying starts, all indicator lights will flash, indicating that cloning or read/write operations have begun.
3、 During cloning, the progress will be indicated by the lights in increments of 25%showing 25%, 50%, 75%, and finally 100%. After reaching 100%, the four percentageindicator lights will remain steadily lit, indicating that the cloning process is complete.
please pay attention to the following matters when using the offline clone function.
1.back disk(B) must be larger capacity(eliminate space loss) than front disk(A),
Plug in identify Source Disk(front port) and Target Disk(back port)
Connect power supply and switch on power. (make sure that the USB cable is disconnected)
2.To avoid your disk file damaged,please don’t stop the device when it’s under clone function.
3.When copy disk,please make sure disk B is empty,or the former file in disk B will be loss.(if disk B has file before,and just want to copy from disk A,please don’t use offline clone function,just copy and paste on computer)
4.When offline copy the disk,please don’t connect the computer,if connect the computer,disk will be under reading,can not support copy(device heating is normally,as big hard disk operate will be hot)
5.if the clone is interrupted ,you need to restart the device and clone again.

To be an it person and not to clone your “c” drive os system (server 2016-2025) with 50 “”domain users”” active directory is absolutely not an option. You can”t do it internally because in “uefi” environment you end up with booting issues by scrambling boot sector partition ---- As missing. I purchased this external device to use windows macrium software to externally replicate exact copy of os system. I need external duplication using pc internal software to achieve my goals, including replicating larger ssd to smaller size ssd plus sata to nvme as a archiving valuable os. P.s. I just cloned (smaller to larger) ssd plus resided the partitions (through macrium software) and in 2-3 days i will clone sata...to......nvme and nvme.....to.... sata . And will post the results. By the way ""bs-d280nc"" i purchased is not plastic, but it is metal case.
It's a good product, works as it should, but you need to buy a more expensive model - DB280NC, as it is more versatile.

Sata to sata model db280sc. Works fine. Source ssd a is on the right, target ssd b is on the left as correctly marked on the unit (but somehow not the way you expect it). Works fine, copies 128gb sata ssd in ~15 minutes. Perfect to make bootable clone drives. An additional power switch would make it much more user friendly. Very fast shipping.

Already did a 4tb clone with it worked very good I do recommend this.
Copying two NVMEs with different sizes but within the technical limits of the device did not work in standalone mode. However, the normal read/write mode works fine.
